In order to get up to the tombs we took these goofy-looking "trains" -- carts being dragged along by a car shaped like a train engine. They were painted in these goofy, garish color schemes and looked like they'd been liberated from a circus, somewhere.

The cart in the picture reads "smile - you are in Luxor."

Well, anything beats walking..., but I was half expecting to see someone dressed like Donald Duck hiding behind a boulder after this.
