The Viper is the latest design in Stealth technology. Its design and paint absorb radar so it has a radar image the size of a golf ball. Its engines, which are uprated versions of the Executive Shuttle's, are buried within the ship itself and cooled to help reduce the heat signature.
It is rumored that the Viper carries Visual Stealth ("Cloaking Device") technology. While this is not known with absolute certainty, even without the cloaking device the ship is a powerful adversary in interstellar battles.
Though the ship is still in the experimental stage, at least two fully-functional prototypes are being used in limited service at this time. Designed to use the same hangar facilities as the Executive Shuttle, the Viper can be carried aboard the Star Force Transport or the Fleet Transport (both with Hyperdrive), thus extending its range almost indefinitely.
