Rudy Appenfell, Iceman of Halverica and legendary Man of Three Waters, and his friends succeeded in stopping the Sleepstealer's first attack against the lands of Dalethica and Faerine: all out war between them! The corrupted human monarch serving the dark god perished and with him the enmity and suspicion that existed between the humans and the Faerine. Now the two peoples have entered into an alliance bent on thwarting the Sleepstealer. To that end they have moved forces to protect the only routes the Sleepstealer's minions can use to enter the other lands. The humans, however, can do little against the invaders as they push across the Dry Basin along the southern border. The Faerine do slightly better...until corrupted brown drackans in the service of Phalthak, one of the Sleepstealer's Lord Minions!
Reaper, another of Dassadec's chief servants, is heading his own army across the human lands, laying waste to human cities on his way. The one good point in the war, however, is that Rudy's greatest nemesis, the Lord Minion Nicodareus, has vanished amidst a torrent of water released by Rudy himself. For the time being, at least, one of Dassadec's greatest servants is no longer a threat. However, that still leaves two mighty foes to face, and both of them have the added advantage of flight...after a sort. Reaper flies upon his own wings while Phalthak rides upon the Dreadcloud, a skyship made from Darkblood. In order to survive and win the way back to their friends, Rudy and his companion, Raine, must fight past one of the two. Which will it be?
Douglas Niles has written numerous books for TSR, Inc., with titles in the Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms series. A Breach in the Watershed started the Watershed Trilogy; this book continues it. It's an impressive work that will keep you reading until the very end.
