Pokémon

Pokémon (a contraction of the Japanese title Pocket Monsters) is a game that's available for Nintendo Gameboy, and is also the name of the anime that is based on it.

Pokémon are creatures that can be captured and trained by Pokémon trainers. As they gain battle experience fighting other pokémon they grow in strength and many eventually evolve into their next form when they reach certain levels.

The Game:

In the game you play Ash, (or whatever you happen to call your character) a 10 year old boy setting out to become a Pokémon Master. The game has two goals:

• To collect the 8 badges that will give you access to the Pokémon League where you Battle the Elite 4 and your main opponent. (usually Gary) After which you will be entered into the hall of fame.
• To capture all 151 pokémon.

As yet I have yet to capture all 151 pokémon, I have however beaten the elite four. J

The Anime:

The anime follows the story of Ash, who arrived late on the day he was to get his first pokémon and almost missed out. There was one last pokémon tho, a Pikachu. The trouble was that Pikachu didn't like Ash and wouldn't obey him until Ash performed an act of self sacrifice to save him.

The series then follows the adventures of Ash and Pikachu, and their friends who they meet along the way, Misty and Brock. Along for the ride are Jesse and James of Team Rocket, the nominal bad guys, who are always trying to steal Pikachu because they consider him a rare and valuable pokémon.
