The Disavowed
Number of members: 40+
Key Members: Bonepart (leader), Genghis, Sasha, Artemis, Kong,
The Mistress, and Mad Hatter
Hangouts: no one knows (yet)
Philosophy: Fundamentally, revenge and power
Reality:
When the family structure collapsed and gangs became the focal center of life for kids of all ages, trouble was brewing. A child cut off from his real family and his social family is angry, isolated, and afraid. Unfortunately, the situation is rumored to be much worse. A disavowed Rad named Bonepart has pulled the "betrayed" and isolated members together. His natural intelligence and charisma made him a natural leader, but the anger of his association’s members give him power. Now, there is a separate force moving through Night City. Juves trained in the yogang system, who know where their secrets, are taking revenge for real or imagined insults and doing it efficiently. Or that’s what the word on the street says.
The majority of the group is drawn from the yogangs with strict rules of conduct (Streetfighters, Tribals, Metalheads, and Gotchers), but they have juves of almost every age, size, and skill, and more join every week. Their primary call to arms is revenge against the yogangs that threw them out, the individual juves responsible, and the whole system itself. Others have a different goal: power. Undoubtedly, being in the disavowed is more advantageous than going alone, but rising in the ranks is difficult at best. Bonepart has also drawn certain juves toward him to the point that the see him as a father figure, a savior, or a king. They follow him with almost religious fervor.
Unfortunately, Bonepart is not the only problem. Taking a clue from feudalism and federalism, he has organized the group in two ways. First of all, there are three main branches of the Disavowed. The largest branch is the Praetorian Guard. This is where all the combat oriented juves go. Led by a cold and calculating ex-Grunt (given the name Genghis), they are the front line for the revenge schemes. The second group, thought to be smaller (although it may not be), is the Tea Party. This is Bonepart’s secret service. Composed of Vidiots,
Facers, Viggies, Networkers, and other social yogangs, they act as an intelligence gathering community. Every person who enters this group takes a new handle. It is currently led by an ex-Gambler called the Mad Hatter. The final and definitely smallest group is the Trinity Project. Acting as a center for
research and development, it would like members of the TinkerTots and LabRats, but currently only has three members and is led by Shasha, a twisted TinkerTot. The second division is the ruling body, called the council, consisting of seven people: Bonepart (president, absolute veto), Shasha (Technical advisor), Mad Hatter (Intelligence), Genghis (General), Artemis (ex-Gotcher,
security), Kong (ex-Mallbrat, Treasurer), and The Mistress (ex-ArcoRunner, Quartermaster). They decide on general plans and keep each other informed on what is happening. Also, do not let Bonepart’s absolute veto fool you, he takes the advice from the Council very seriously and does not dismiss their recommendations without excellent reason.
Today, more and more juves are convinced that this group does exist, especially if they are a Rad (since they know exactly what Bonepart is capable of). There are rumors of a major strike coming against key figures in the yogang community. The
worst news is that no one has been able to figure out exactly how it will be accomplished. Bonepart could manipulate the police into cleaning up the street. The Tea Party may be breeding an internal civil war between multiple yogangs. The Praetorian Guard could just roll through individual yogangs at their hangouts. Trinity may have developed a weapon. It might be something else completely. No one knows what they are planning, except that it will not be pleasant and the Disavowed will clean up the pieces.
