I Thought My Soul Would Rise and Fly is a wonderful, thoughtful, book.
I Thought My Soul Would Rise and Fly is about Patsy, a freed slave, trying to find her roots, strengh, and much more.
In her diary, Patsy decribes the hard life she lives. She has hardly any friends, and hardly any dreams to fulfill. But her life must go on through many events. Patsy writes in her diary telling about these events.
All of the DEAR AMERICA books, including thsi one, has the authentic look of real old fashioned diary. The pages are rough on the edges, and the ribbon is always a lovly accsesorry. The old fashioned look makes the book look more enjoyable.
I Thought My Soul Would Rise and Fly is a great book to get historical information out of too. It's historical-fiction, so the stry isn't true, but the information is. You can learn and enjoy the book at the same time.
I Thought My Soul Would Rise and Fly was a wonderful book decribing the hardships of the African-American people after The Civil War.
