Rainbow Fair
Note: these were not all written at the same time.
A friend of mine was already set to go to a special party. She
already had purchased her ticket. She was going to come "out
of the closet" to some friends there. Then something happened
in her family preventing her to go. Needless to say she was very
sad and went back to her closet.
So I wrote these lines for her (april 2003):
The world is so unfair
She can't show her new hair
With curves so smooth and fair
At the rainbow fair.
As I witness a situation involving the same person, a David
Bowie's tune ran through my head and I wrote these lines (august
2003):
Rebel Rebel, what do you seek?
White picket fence can't keep you in
Change your beliefs, change your style
Join the fringe, still don't fit in
Rebel Rebel you're incomplete
Can't tell you what happiness is
Comforts of life, have and want more
Dance and woe, a mate to meet
there was more to write but never got it finished.
Had a chat with my friend the other morning. She's going
through an identity crisis (again) (october 2003).
Am I changing?
Am I finding myself?
Am I just exploring?
The world is changing
The world is billions of self
The world is for discovering
My world is changing
My world is turning on itself
My world is spinning
Life is being
Living as myself
Living without bindings.
One night stands leaves her heart empty...
An ocean of desire,
a desert of emotions.
The inner child we seek higher,
in a sea of illusions.
Wild things sets my heart on fire,
fleeting moments of passion.
My loneliness is for hire,
for ears of compassion.
