Ignorance, not money, is the root of all evil. Ignorance will always display itself, it cannot hide.
Ignorance is the most isidious evil. It absolutely and completely has to be recognised as such. It not only, almost completely, infects our society, but is the single, most important obstacle that each of us, as seekers has to become completely and distinctly aware of. Our own ignorance, not somebody else's, is the final and only obstacle to be overcome.
A good end cannot sanctify evil means; nor must we ever do evil, that good may come of it. Some people think they can scold, critisize, exaggerate, hate, belittle, and even kill; so it be but for God's sake, but nothing in our behaviour, that is unlike Him, can please Him.
When we have done evil it is because we have been worsted by our baser side- for a man is many- by desire or rage or some evil image: the misnamed reasoning that takes up with the false, in reality fancy, has not stayed for the judgment of the Reasoning-Principle: we have acted at the call of the less worthy, just as in matters of the sense-sphere we sometimes see falsely because we credit only the lower perception, without applying the tests of the Reasoning-Faculty.
Where the faculty is incapable of knowing without contact, the experience of evil brings the dearer perception of good.
As a mark is not set up in order to be missed, so neither is such a thing as natural evil produced in the World.
Evil is the forerunner of good, it comes into existence in order that men may reject the lesser good and rise to the higher.
All comes into existence through Necessity.
Bad men rule by the feebleness of the ruled: and this is just; the triumph
of weaklings would not be just.
Permit no person to so narrow and degrade your soul, that you come to hate them.
Hatred is like toxic waste in the river of life, and violence the last refuge of the incompetent. The strongest person is always the least violent.
