John Barret is a news anchor for "NewsSix at Five." When his father is killed by an 'accident' at his factory, John uncovers a major news story. As he tries to uncover the truth about deaths at a nearby abortion clinic, he experiences much conflict from his producer. She doesn't want the story on the air but John knows that he must get the truth out, even if it costs him his job. Through his journey to find the information he needs, he discovers a Truth in his own life. He finally understands his father's crusade that the Truth to be told.
I enjoyed this book. It really showed many of the injustices in this world. Peretti showed some of the double standards against Truth on this planet. At points in this book I wished so much that John could get the truth out about the abortion clinic, but then I realized that Peretti was showing us the struggle some go through to tell people the truth. I read that he wanted this book to get the point across that the media determines what people know, by what and how they choose to tell us. Peretti said he was dissatisfied with this novel because the abortion issue took over the main point he wanted to convey.
