A huge stone has appeared in the African country of Togwana. Considering the fact that the stone is two miles high, no one can explain where it came from. All anyone can say is that one day it was not there, and the next it was. The Coopers are called to this land by the dictator, Idi Nkromo, to remove it, and to hopefully discover its origin. While examining the top of the stone, their small plane crashes on the other side of the stone. A group of natives greet them, and they soon make friends. The Coopers begin hearing stories from their religion, and they notice that the stories are strangely similar to Bible stories. Do the natives know this, or is the similarity just a coincidence? After a few days of examining the stone, Dr. Cooper realizes that the stone is moving in the direction of Nkromo's army. When they are captured by Nkromo's scouts, they try to tell him. Yet he will not listen and sentences them to death for being traitors. The Coopers can only pray that Nkromo will realize the danger he is in before it is too late and that their lives will be spared.
This book really helped me realize that God will do what He can to tell people of His existence and what He did for them. Peretti had to have put some thought into this book, and I believe he did a wonderful job. This is another on of my favorites, because it was different.
