Fluorite is thought of as one of the 'New Age' stones. It is absolutely beautiful and comes in various colours including, violet, pale blue, pink, green, yellow and white. Although overlooked for many years it seems to have been a stone favoured by ancient civilisations - pieces of fluorite were excavated in the ruins of Pompeii.

Holding a piece of Fluorite in your hand is said to bring calm and inner peace and is used during meditation. It also helps intellectually; calming the mind, allowing clear focus and thought, bringing greater concentration, strengthening analytical abilities and making assimilation of information easier.

Fluorite is thought to be a powerful healer. It is said to gather and absorb vital nutrients and strengthen bones and teeth. A repairer and builder, thought of as beneficial to women suffering from osteoporosis.

Fluorite is also thought to be a psychic shield, unblocking energy while also energising and protecting. Purple fluorite increases spiritual balance and mystic visions and is helpful to people attempting astral travel as it is protective and assures safe journeys into the realm of spirit.
