Location

Roocaravindola is located in the Molise region in the province of Isernia(map), about half way between Venafro and Isernia  and belongs to the comune of Montaquila. Roccaravindola is in a poor region and its residents rely mainly on subsistence farming. It serves as a train station for many of the local towns and has a post office. Other towns in the area include Filignano and Monteroduni. Monteroduni and Roccaravindola are about 4-5 kilometers apart and are separated by a valley and the Volturno river. Monteroduni is the scientific headquarters of the Italian branch of the Institute for Basic Research, which is located in the Castle Prince Pignatelli.
