Organization

It is important for the communicator to organize ideas and present them to the audience in a clear and concise manner. Arrangement is the art of organizing material in a text in a way that most appropriately and smoothly delivers the intended information. For technical communicators, there are many widely practiced methods of arrangement:

  • Capture the audience's attention.
  • Provide necessary background information.
  • Anticipate and address other possible approaches.
  • Conclude by persuading the audience to follow directions, fund the project, or perform the appropriate action for the situation.

As with paper-based documentation, the communicator, when developing a multimedia project, organizes the information with the audience in mind. The technical communicator has many delivery methods and options available
