On 2 January 1898 when Nettie Alice was 20, she married Joseph R. Ringer, son of Jacob H. Ringer & Mary C. Rosenberger, in Albright, Preston Co., WV. Born on 1 September 1870 in Preston Co., WV. Joseph R. died on 27 January 1937; he was 66. Buried in Miller Cem., Valley Point, Preston Co., WV.

Joseph R. and Nettie Alice's marriage license states Joseph's age as 26 at time of marriage, representing his yob as 1872 rather than 1870 as found in another family record.

According to Thelma Gillispie: Joseph's occupations were laborer and operater of the mines livery stable at the Deaker mine near Snyders Crossing, Preston Co., WV.

Lived at old Bucklew farm which became the present Preston Country Club at "Cadell," adjacent to Camp Dawson. He also lived in the house in Kingwood which is now known as the Browning Funeral Home on Main Street.
