He and Mary Ann Watkins had six children.

On 8 October 1871 when Francis was 20, he married Mary Ann Watkins, daughter of James Watkins & Sarah Ambrose, in Tunnelton, Preston Co., WV. Produced six children. Born about 1846. Occupation: Rug weaver, artist and boarding house operator for railroad workers.

Francis and Mary were married at her home in Tunnelton, Preston Co., WV.

On 9 April 1885 when Mary was 32, she married John M. Freeland, son of James Freeland & Sarah Ridenour, in Preston Co., WV. Born on 23 April 1843 in Preston Co., (W)V. John M. died on 27 February 1921; he was 77.

She and Joshua Knox had three children.

950. Harriet C. Casseday. Born in 1860 in Preston Co., (W)V. Harriet C. died in Preston Co., WV, on 23 July 1948; she was 88. Buried in Terra Alta Cem., Terra Alta, Preston Co., WV.
