1597. Amelia Jane Buckalew. Born in March 1832 in Hinds Co., MS. Amelia Jane died in Hinds City, Hinds Co., MS, on 11 May 1914; she was 82. Buried in Cedar Lawn Cem., Hinds Co., MS.
Died of Dysentary at "Old Ladies Home."

1598. Mary Caroline "Clara" Buckalew. Born about 1838 in Copiah Co., MS.
1870 Copiah Co., MS, Census: In home of Thomas Templeton, 26; wife Elizabeth, 22; Nannie, 30; George W., 26; Alice E., 10; and Clara B., 3. Mary C. Buckelew's age was given as "32." Since Mary C. also appears in the 1870 Copiah Co., MS, census as wife in the home of John R. Matthews, she must have been visiting at the Templeton home when the census-taker came "a-calling."
1880 Copiah Co., MS, Census: Along with daughters Clarah and Margaret Mathews, in the home of George Bukelew, her brother.
On 28 September 1865 when Mary Caroline "Clara" was 27, she married John G. (Or "R.") Mathews, in Copiah Co., MS. Born about 1841. Occupation: Copiah Co., MS, Sheriff ( Census: 1870).
There's a John R. Matthews, 29, Sheriff, and family in the 1870 Copiah Co., MS, census. Listed with him were wife Mary C. (age not given), and five children: John, 7; Mary L., 6; Simon S., 4; Lydia L., 3; U.S.G., 1.
I'm not at all sure that this is the same John G. Mathews, husband of Mary C. Buckaloo and apparent father of Clarah and Margaret Mathews.
They had the following children:

1600. George W. Buckalew. Born about 1842 in MS.
1866, 9 Oct; Indigent & Disabled Confed. Soldiers and Dependents; Copiah Co., MS: G.W. Buckelew, hand injured.

Mil. Svc.:: There was a "Pvt G.W. Buckalew" in Co. E of the 39th Regt MS Inf in the Civil War.
On 25 July 1871 when George W. was 29, he married Lucretia Norwood, in Copiah Co., MS.
