1880, Washington Co., AL: John C. Buckelew served as Justice of the Peace, commissioned 13 Sep 1880.

Mil. Svc.:: John C. Buckalow was 71st on the list.
1862 Confederate Service Record, Washington Co., AL: J.C. Buckalew, 2nd Sgt., & P.F. Buckalew, 3rd Cpl., were Non-Commissioned Officers in Wilson's Guards, Co. A of the 32nd AL Infantry. The Co. was composed of Washington Co., volunteers, and was formed 20 Jan. 1862 at St. Stephens. Also serving as privates in the same Co. were John (#3116), Joshua (#3118) & Israel Beech, who could possibly tie into the Peter & Eliza (#3116) Buckalew Beach family.

There's also a Confederate record for John C. Buckalew in the MS 6th Inf. Co. I.

On 3 April 1860 when John C. was 14, he married Lucinda Sullivan, in Washington Co., AL.

2761. Harriet Caroline Buckalew. Born on 3 April 1854 in GA. Buried in Big Creek Cemetery, Grant Parish, LA. Nickname: Callie.

Harriet Caroline married Josiah Smith. Born on 20 May 1851 in LAs Vegas, NV. Josiah died in Poland, LA, on 12 October 1933; he was 82.

They had one child:

2762. Dr. William Bledsey Buckalew , M.D. Born in 1844 in GA. Buried in Guynes Cem., Grant Parish, LA.

That William Bledley/Bladsey (?) Buck?lew is son of Asa Miles/Pinckney/Pickney (?) Buck?lew is a conjecture based on information provided by Joyce Manning <joandjer@1cc.net> May 1999.

He was a medical doctor in and around Colfax, Grant Parish, LA.

William Bledsey first married Anncie Parsade Corley, daughter of Isham F. Corley (1819-) & Tabitha (1823-). Born on 13 July 1845 in Scott Co., MS. Anncie Parsade died in Colfax, Grant Parish, LA, in 1887; she was 41. Buried in Heburn, LA.
