"Following graduation from Pratt in 1897, he worked as apprentice in the lumber business and in the building trade. (He was one of the 1st card-carrying members of the Carpenter's Union in NYC). In business for himself as builder for 38 years. Build White Plains Hospital, Newburgh Hosp., Flushing National Bank, Queens County Savings Bank, Euthenics Building at Vassar College, John T. Pratt's residence, and numerous apartment houses, warehouses, factories, etc. Employed about 200 men at height of business. Taught at Pratt for more than 25 yrs. (Contracts, specifications and estimating). During WWII he was an appraiser for the Defense Plant Corporation."
