0--The Fool

On a spiritual level it represents thoughts, ideas, spirituality, that which tries to transcend the mundane world. In material matters it indicates folly, eccentricity, madness. This card can be used to represent Cernnunos, in his aspect as the Green Man of Spring.

I--The Magus

Skill, wisdom, adaptability, craft, cunning and deceit. Sometimes occult power or wisdom. Represents applied intelligence. This card can be used to represent Thoth or Mercury.

II--The Priestess

Pure and exalted influences, change as with the beginning of a new season, great enthusiasm and vigor. This card can be used to represent Isis, Artemis, or Diana.

III--The Empress

Love, beauty, success, pleasure, fertility, sensuality, gentleness. This is the Great Mother in the fullness of her Power representing the continuity of life. May be used to represent Gaea, Hathor,or Demeter.

IV--The Emperor

Stability, power, victory, conquest, virility, energy, ambition, originality. This is the Great Father in the fullness of his Power as equal and Consort to the Mother. Osiris in Glory.

V--The Hierophant

Divine wisdom, inspiration, higher states of consciousness,strength, endurance, teaching, help from superiors, patience, occult force voluntarily invoked. This is the male counterpoint to the Priestess. Can be used to represent Apollo or Horus.

VI--The Lovers

Choice, openness to inspiration, intuition, intelligence,child-like thought, attraction, beauty, love, union with others.

VII--The Chariot

Triumph, victory, hope, obedience, faithfulness, health, temporary success, authority under authority, violence in maintaining tradition. If badly dignified, lust to destroy new and different ideas.

VIII--Adjustment

Justice, balance, suspension of action pending judgement. May refer to lawsuits, marriages, trials, treaties, etc.

IX--The Hermit

Illumination from within, divine inspiration, wisdom, prudence, circumspection, retirement from participation in social activities, meditation, a quiet time of thought.

X--Fortune

Change of fortune generally for the better, destiny.

XI--Lust

Courage, strength, the use of magical power, the Great Love between the God and Goddess, resort to Magick. Can be used to represent the Union of the Lord and Lady.

XII--The Hanged Man

Redemption through sacrifice, punishment for misdeed, the Rule of Three enforced, defeat, death. This card can represent Osiris Slain, the king who gives up his life for his people.

XIII--Death

Transformation, the movement from one reality to another whether physical or spiritual.

XIV--Art

Combination of many random forces, realisation, action based on careful thought, Will brought to play successfully. Can be used to represent a Wiccan on the correct path.

XV--The Devil

Temptation, obsession, materiality, ambition without forethought, wild and uncontrolled action. May be used to represent the God in his wilder forms, Pan, Loki, Herne.

Note: the devil is any god not currently in the mainstream of religious belief (ie any God other than Jehovah).

XVI--The Tower

Quarrels, combat, danger, ruin, destruction of plans, courage under extremes, sudden death, escape from prison.

XVII--The Star

Hope, unexpected help, release from bondage, clarity of thought and vision. Can be used to represent the Goddess as a Maiden, Diana, Artemis.

XVIII--The Moon

Illusion, darkness, dreams, the end of the road, things unknown and veiled in mystery. This card can be used to represent the Goddess in Her Dark Time, Hecate, Kali, Tiamat.

XIX--The Sun

Glory, gain, riches, truth, light, recovery from illness, sometimes arrogance, vanity. This can be used to represent the God as Triumphant King and Sun, Apollo, Osiris, Dionysus.

XX--The Aeon

Finality to things past, a fresh start to things future, always a definite step.

XXI--The Universe

Synthesis, everything in everything. God and Goddess, man and animal, plant and mineral, energy and matter. Unity
