General Assignments
- Email--weekly assignment to post at least one public letter to the Rezlife list from your Yahoo email account or Rocketmail account.
- Bulletin Board--weekly assignment to make at least one public posting to the Bulletin Board. Some weeks more postings will be required.
- Journal--daily assignment to keep up w/ a Journal these will be checked on a weekly basis.
- Book Reviews--at least 4 reviews of "college bound" literature are required for the semester; the first will be oral.
- Projects--two projects will be required for the semester. One will require developing a simple website for the Net, while the other is "open" as long as it involves language skills. This will give you a chance to use your creative energy.
Week 1
- Complete the work on the Introduction to the Net page
- Write a brief introduction of yourself and post it to the Rezlife list. Use your Yahoo email account orRocketmail account.
- Complete the work on Search Engines and record your results in your Journal Book.

Week 2
- Complete regular weekly assignments--minimum of 1 posting to the Rezlife list using your Yahoo email or Rocketmail account. Also be sure to check out our Bulletin Board and post at least one message to it.
- Organize your future website on the planning pages--ask Mr. Nesbit and check out Website Creation Page Website Creation Page
- Get a website location at Geo Cities. Follow instructions there to choose your neighborhood, fill out the forms, and receive your password. We will be using the "Advanced Editor". Save this information. You will need this!
- We will begin to construct your home page this week. I will send you an email with some basic HTML text that you are to go to your "Edit" bar at the top and click on "Copy". You will then Paste that information on your page as a start.
Week 3
- You will make two kinds of "links" this week. One will be a link within your document from your home page to a second page while the other will be a link to my page. Once you know how to do this you can link to any site on the Internet (though we must caution you to only link to appropriate sites). Look for special coding on the Bulletin Board if you get confused.
- You are to check out the Career Resourcespage as part of Ms. Waslow's assignment. Find at least one person in your field to correspond with via email whether it's off the Career Resource page or from the Rezlife list. Check the Bulletin Board for announcements on this.
- Be sure to complete your regular weekly assignments--posting to the Rezlife list from your Yahoo email account orRocketmail account and posting to the Bulletin Board.
Week 4
- Be sure to complete your regular weekly assignments--posting to the Rezlife list from your Yahoo email account orRocketmail account and posting to the Bulletin Board. Remember, you are the advanced class getting ready for college--we are looking for higher level thinking posts to these places for better grades.
- You are to check out the Career Resourcespage as part of Ms. Waslow's assignment. Find at least one person in your field to correspond with via email whether it's off the Career Resource page or from the Rezlife list. Check the Bulletin Board for announcements on this.
- You will receive a brief note with some HTML coding to revise your Links, so that they are in "list" form. Revise your links using one of the codes.
- On Friday complete the Hawthorne Internet Hunt using the sources beginning on the Nathaniel Hawthorne Page.
Week 5
- So you've got your first two pages started, you have some links, so what's
next?
- You need to be adding information in text and pictures
- Liven up your page with some graphics. We'll practice by clicking on
your RIGHT MOUSE on ONE of these images:
and go to "SAVE IMAGE AS". It will now be saved on your computer. Go to your FILE MANAGER and scroll down to EZ FILE UPLOAD. Hit the BROWSE button, scroll down to "ALL FILES", find your icon, UPLOAD the FILES, and follow the HTML Code on your sheet to load the image to your page.
- Right after your email image, put your email address HTML Code. See your Code Sheet for the pattern.
- Continue working on your web pages. For help and useful links, go to Website Creation.
