Pylos Diving Club activities
Given that the reason for PDCs existence is identified with the blue sea, the activities of the club are numerous; in fact they are as many as the the things one could do around, in or under water. We will, however, mention the most important ones that are:
Diving lessons..
It is perhaps the most important activity as it entails the great responsibility of preparing divers that can go  under water in safety for themselves as well as their diving companions.
Besides safety, one must not forget that during diving one takes ONLY pictures of the sea and leaves ONLY bubbles. We did not inherit the sea from out forefathers, we just borrowed it from our children.
A lot of the first lessons take place in the natural pool of Voidokoilia.

Diving excursions.
Diving excursions are organised  in the magnificent  underwater sights of Pylos with friends or for friends that come from afar.
There is great variety depending on the level and the participants preferences: blue
dives, shipwrecks, going up and down underwater cliffs, and meetings with underwater residents.
Around Pylos there are three areas where diving is allowed: Niokastro , Varela and the outer part of  Voidokoilia  from Palaiokstro  as far as Rykia.
Blue dives take place in Venetiko, Petrokaravo and Sapienza islands.
For skin divers there is the opportunity to dive into greek history.
There are two ancient shipwrecks; one with sarcofagus and one with columns in small depth, as well as a prehistoric dwellings.

Nestor Project
Pylos Diving Club made a great contribution to making this programme come true. Member divers volunteered  to help with the submergence of the telescope to the depth of 4000 metres in the well of Oinousses.
Lets set one thing straight though - we did NOT dive to such a depth!
The divers made the last necessary checks  in a depth of 50 meters so as to make sure that the telescope will continue its 4 kilometre lonely journey incident free.

Sea bottom cleaning.
Before you think that the picture is too idealised we must assure you
that it indeed is. Cleanliness is important yet the sea screens litter
out of sight of everyone save the divers that have to live with the
problem of littered sea bottom.
As bodyguards of  lady sea we have to fight against the pollution dragon
any way we can so that we can restore it to its pristine cleanliness
that is so thoughtlessly marred by some.
On a regular basis, PDC organises such cleaning campaigns.

In general, the members of the club have been present wherever safety divers are necessary ( water sanctifying celebrations, nautical week events, underwater chase races etc)
We will conclude this page repeating its beginning which is a principle by which we all go by, and a message we address to everyone
During diving, we take ONLY PICTURES and we leave ONLY BUBBLES.
The sea does not belong to us. We have borrowed it from our children.
