 QUESTION:

My question is about qaza prayers and the intentions concerned.
I know there is no excuse but somehow I did manage to miss about two
  weeks. This was before Ramadan.

  Q. How do I make the intention for these, do I include the particular
date in my intention or just say "I intend for the sake of Allah (S.W.T)
to perform qaza Isha" for example or is it enough to just think of it in my
  heart.

Q2.When making the intention do I say it allowed with a soft voice (as I
was taught by my father) or do I say it only within my mind as
what a sunni friend has told me. Is it true the body must hear
the intention so that it may bear witness?

 ANSWER:

There is consensus amongst the fuqaha over the matters on which you seek
 guidance.

  (1) If you are certain about the number of days for which you owe qadha you
should begin to perform the qadha either all in one day or staggered as you
wish
remembering that the sooner the qadha is repaid the better it is.

  (2) There is no need to utter the niyyah either softly, loudly or in any
particular
language so long as you know that you are performing a particular salaah qadha
 qurbat.

  (3) The following should be noted:

  (a) If you are uncertain about the number of days for which you have to
recite
qadha it is sufficient for you to recite qadha for the least number of days for
which
you believe you owe qadha. You may however decide that as a precaution you
should recite qadha for any larger number of days,

 (b) If during the period for which you owe qadha there was any day that by
reason
of travelling you could not have recited your salaah in your home town before
it
became qadha then you should recite qasr qadha for that particular salaah.

 (c) Qadha salaah should be recited in the proper sequence i.e. fajr, zuhr,
asr,
maghrib and Ishaa. Lastly my friend, a personal message.

I am proud of your courage to admit to yourself of the lapsed prayers and
acknowledge that it was some thing which should not have happened. May Allah
shower His maghfirah and ne'ma upon you.

With salaams and duaas from a humble servant of Ahlul Bayt and their followers,

 Bashir Rahim
