As I look
back over my life, I thank God for waiting on me, a Sinner!
Yes, I am a sinner. You too, are a sinner. This is what the Word of God declares to us. There is a difference between
me (a born again
believer)and an unsaved person. That difference is that
I'm a sinner saved by the
Grace of God, and I have become a child of the King of Kings. I have a New Home and Citizenship in Heaven! I now have a New Mission here on Earth,(To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a Lost and Dying World.) I have the Word of God, the Bible,(Which is God speaking to me). I have also become an Ambassador for Christ and a Minister of Reconciliation in the time that I have left here in this world. There is one other thing that I have and that is a Mansion waiting on me when my Lord and Saviour calls me home! Amen! The unsaved person is still just a sinner and is missing out on all that God has planned for them.
I have
been involved with church during a large portion of my life, but I was a
lost sinner (unsaved) and on my way to an eternity spent in hell and
separated from a God that loves me.
I have done some good and some bad
things in my life. I grew up in church as an altar boy, I was in the boy
scouts, I did things for my neighbors,I was a child that stayed out of
jail, I didn't belong to any gangs, I did four years of military service,
I took care of my family, and more. You would think that I was a pretty
good person. Right? Wrong....I was lost, on my way to hell and only the
love of Jesus Christ saved me from the punishment that I deserved.
A
couple of years ago, I knew that I was headed the wrong way. I wanted to
get back into church, stop drinking, stop cursing, stop doing all the
things that were wrong. (Yes, I knew they were wrong!)As I was
searching for a church to join on my road back to God, and I was seeking
to turn my life around...God sent a Gospel Tract my way. Did you notice
that I said that I was looking for God? You see.... We grow up with
religion all around us, but religion is man's way of reaching out to
God.But...Christianity is God's way of reaching out to man.
When I
read that tract, it told of a man that did all the right things in life
but he did not have Jesus in his life. When he died, he came before God
and was found guilty. You see, he had not been washed in the blood of
Jesus. He had not accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He was a
church goer, a good man, and so on...But, he was not saved. So I thought,
well what's coming after that? HELL!... Yes HELL!!! FOREVER and EVER, and
EVER,... Well you get the picture. You know what...( FOREVER IS A LONG
TIME!!! )Then came the second part of the tract and it said...This could be
your life. The tract showed the man accepting Jesus Christ as his personal
saviour. Then he started to do good works after he was born again. When he
died he went to be with the Lord, forever!
I sat there after reading this
tract and I said out loud to myself.... I need to get saved. As I read the
tract at the end, it said that you need to accept Jesus Christ as your
Lord and Saviour and the atoning work He did at the cross for me and you.
I realized at that very moment that I needed to be saved so I asked God to
save me through His Son Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for God saving me
and waiting for me. After I accepted Jesus Christ as my Personal Lord and
Saviour... I witnessed to my Beautiful Loving Wife, who also accepted Jesus Christ as her
Saviour a couple of month's later. AMEN! Now, I'm working for the Lord by giving
out the Gospel whenever I get a chance, And I'm using the internet to send
the Gospel out around the world.
Well...that is my
story....AMEN and AMEN!
And my Journey, now with the Lord,
continues....
Forever in
Christ...
Marlon
