Jet
Jet is an organic material and, like coal, was formed from the remains of wood immersed in stagnant water over millions of years, compacted, and then fossilised. Jet is most often black but can be a dark brown.
Chakra: Base
Jet enhances sexual energy and sexual function. It is especially useful for older people entering into new sexual relationships after a long "rest"! It enhances the sensitivity of the physical body in both men and women and prolongs erection for men. It is a good partner for sensual blends of massage oils, using essential oils of rose, jasmine and lavender. Place a piece of jet in a carrier oil such as sweet almond or apricot kernel oil, together with any combination of these essential oils, and if possible with a peach moonstone and a rose quartz stone. Jet also assists in maintaining stable and satisfying relationships on the emotional level, and in making decisions about the person's needs and desires.
Jet carries an earth energy and is therefore a grounding stone, representing stability in relationships but also maintaining stability in the person's material circumstances. It is an excellent stone for people working with the earth such as farmers and gardeners, or people who enjoy spending time in the natural environment such as the bush, beach, rivers and wild gardens. It connects such people to the environmental divas, adding a spiritual dimension to their connection.
Because Jet is a fossil, it is useful for those persons undertaking past life exploration as it stores ancient knowledge and memories.
