The Second Annual Birch
Thanksgiving Wine Competition 1998

This years competition was conducted by a group of six distinguished/tipsy judges who gathered around the dining table in the vacation house on Isle of Palms Island, South Carolina, USA.

There was much pre-competition trial tasting to prepare our palettes.

And much inspection of the candidates in anticipation of the event!

Judges were Betsy, Sue, Dale, Michael, Kathy, and Kat.
The gracious MC's were Dave, and Harry.
Security conducted by Eric and Evan.

Scoring was supervised and tallied by Harry.

Presentation by Dave.

All rules were made up in advance, but were subject to change without notice or provocation.

Entries were judged in four categories:

1. Bouquet
2. Taste
3. Legs
4. Finish

The competition was, of course, brutal and highly critical.
