I am just now reading the April 28, 1986 Time magazine cover story, "Hitting The Source", about the American attacks on Libya, and i note your prophetic remark that the raid would make Colonel Qadaffi "a hero" to the Arabs and a worse menace than ever (which now appears to be coming true). Time also reported that you said:

We ignored much of the criticism in 1978 and proceeded to make the preparations for a more effective basis of world "peace, security, and justice."
In my January 17, 1983 statement to Mr. Clark and Canadian N.D.P. Leader Ed Broadbent (after having received no response from the Trudeau Government following my return to Vancouver from Ottawa), re-initiating the representation of the popular entertainers' "concern" since 1977 and 1978 and including a copy of the lyrics to "For A Dancer" by Jackson Browne in the submission(s) sent c/o Ms. Pat Carney, i also referred to these lines by Robert Frost in his poem, "The Road Not Taken", drawn from Robert McNamara's book, "The Essence of Security":

The Reagan Administration apparently ignores the fact that its representation of "honesty and decency" in its struggle with the world's supporters of terrorism is limited by its own limited respect for my/our "International Diplomatic Work...on a direct basis."
The President has not supplied me with new instructions as to how to deal with developments since the 1978 plans.
Would he have me and those i "influence' buy guns and settle disputes as they do?
Is this not, in reality, the whole basis of my "argument" with their policymaking? (And for that matter, isn't it essentially what "The Contadora Group" is disputing as they struggle for peace for their homelands?)
In His mysterious ways, He has once again shown "all of us" there are no winners--only losers--when human beings threaten and endanger that which He gave us and until right prevails over misdirected might.

And as He and we pointed out in 1978, sometimes things like this just cannot be kept to "three-page limits"--even when the most powerful one now of "all of us" insists upon it.

Well, this is all i intend to say presently about these "concerns." We're still on that "even keel" we were when we started the 1978 preparations, with the key to resolution of the "problems" remaining as cooperation and friendship. I continue to agree with your commitment to "never lie" in your work on behalf of the American people and for world peace and better international understanding and relations, so i will continue to follow your example. And i will ask the obvious question which many of us now would like to have the answer for: If you were given another four years as the U.S. President, what would you do (beyond your March 2, 1986 challenge to Ronald Reagan's honesty)?
