Further to my July 03, 1990 phone talks with C.A.A. (and the 3 preceding those on June 13-14, 1990), i'm sending the requested FAX to explain as briefly as i can what i plan to send to your client, Jackson Browne, and why i think he should have these things presently.
Maggie told me Jackson is already on tour, so i won't send the thing now.
Let me explain the overall conditions and what i suggest be done.

The main result of my June 14, 1990 discussion with C.A.A.'s Susan Miller of the 1978 circumstances and how some may allege that "Irangate" is related them--though not by my design or, to the best of my knowledge presently, by the design of any of those now-C.A.A. clients i was then in touch with about my work--was that we agreed that the decision made the previous day by one of C.A.A. Head Michael Ovitz' assistants to return to me the contents of my May 10, 1990 registered letter was probably premature, and she urged me to return what's necessary to Mr. Ovitz' publicist, Steven Rivers.

Very soon i have to send some things to SENATOR Kennedy, to be forwarded to President Bush; some things to Canadian M.P. Ian Waddell, to be brought up with Prime Minister Mulroney; and before the September, 1990 sitting of the U.N. General Assembly, i'll be sending some things to the U.N. SECRETARY-GENERAL.
I think it would be prudent to enclose copies of this statement in those submissions, inviting their responses to these contents as soon as possible.

Prospectively i'll send you a registered letter late next month, by which time i may have some response(s) to these submissions that i can cite to C.A.A. and those of its clients who would continue to hold the hope for an effective, expeditious resolution of these longstanding problems.
I recommend you give a copy of this to Mr. Rivers.
If a decision is made that this pending registered letter to you would better serve the "best" interests of C.A.A. and its clients if it were addressed to Mr. Rivers or (again) to Mr. Ovitz, feel free to FAX me to whom c/o the provided number (that of friends who will relay the message to me).

One of the things i have to send Jackson a copy of is something i wrote titled, "Science Fiction"--which is any(thing) but.

You'll have to read it, but let me say here it includes quoted lines from Jackson's lyric, "How Long" (with copyright attributed), it cites names of individuals i asked for help from with my work in 1977-78, and it attributes to each accurate quotes of their "views" on world peace, arms reductions, better international relations, and especially the consequences of racism.
It got turned down for publication, but as i'll show you in the pending letter, it may have encouraged the release of Nelson Mandela and may have further facilitated the releases of those 2 U.S. hostages by their captors in Lebanon.
I explained this to an A.N.C. member i met last month as i'd promised in January i'd be sending that group copies of my statements to South Africans, but was unable to due to political shiftiness by Ottawa politicians delaying me.*
I also told him i think it was my telling "The Arab League" in August, 1986 of my 2 April 2, 1986 phone talks with Desmond Tutu that piqued the conscience of some Arab(s) and led to the exposure of the Reagan Administration arms sales to Iran.
I still have to fulfill the promise made to the Arabs then that i'd send a copy of that statement to "The Islamic Conference Organization".
As there are still hostages being held, of course i must consider what to say about them and these circumstances.
It was in thinking that i'd be making that submission imminently at that time that i submitted "Science Fiction" for consideration of publication last fall.
...As i say, it may have produced two hostage releases without even being published.

I told Susan and Maggie all i'm really trying to do now is ensure that those entertainers i asked for help from in 1978 towards undertaking something like "Live Aid" the following year (the Year of The Child) aren't unjustifiably blamed for all the delays, sleaze, and suffering since. I want to prepare an accurate summary-chronology of the circumstances in and beyond 1981 after i quit the Toronto area warehouse job following the assassination of Anwar el-Sadat to try and complete the "International Diplomatic Work...on a direct basis" as was agreed to in 1978.
If i do so, i think it will limit the misunderstanding about my contacts with some of those now-C.A.A. clients (and others) at that time.

Jackson Browne knows this already, but again for paragraph 3 of the previous page and for C.A.A.'s understanding--it was ultimately because of the annotated passage of the second page here that i quit that 1981 job, a few weeks after reading it.
Discretion was requested of the entertainers for a time in and beyond 1978.
But if the work i contributed to then had been properly presented to the public subsequently...there may never have been the ongoing Intifada.
This is something i've already told American Jewish activist Stanley Sheinbaum, who[m] i met last year and who recommended i write a book about this work, i will bring up in this submission to the Moslem group.

"Science Fiction" contains the truth about these matters as was contained in the 1978 documentation i prepared as Jimmy Carter's SPECIAL DIPLOMATIC ADVISER TO THE U.S. PRESIDENT and the SENIOR ADVISER TO THE YEAR OF THE CHILD.

I continue to think the only thing that will get the remaining hostages freed is the truth, so that's all i'll provide--including always to C.A.A.

CURIOUSLY, MY HOUSE WAS BURGLARIZED ON AUGUST 31, 1989, THE THEFT CONSISTING OF 2 STOLEN TAPE PLAYERS, SOME CASH, AND...THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS OF RECEIPT FOR THE REGISTERED LETTERS I SENT IN PREPARING THIS "INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMATIC WORK...ON A DIRECT BASIS" FOR THE WORLD'S CHILDREN.

AND I MENTIONED TO HIM THAT THEN-METROPOLITAN TORONTO POLICE CHIEF JACK ACKROYD HAD SENT A SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE TO VISIT ME IN 1981 AT MY TORONTO HOME, TO ASK ME TO WRITE U.S. PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN ON THEIR BEHALF.
I VIVIDLY RECALL THE TWO OF US AT THAT MOMENT OF CONSIDERATION OF THIS EVENT, ROLLING OUR EYES AND LOOKING AT THE CEILING.
