The Activist and the Media: Sometimes activist think of the media as being one large congruous corporate entity. However, occasionally we must recognize that we need the media to get our message out to the masses. There are several steps each activists can do to help with the media:
  • Contact your newspapers ombudsman to tell them you dont like the angle on a story.
  • write an op/ed to the editor.
  • send a media brief or press release to the Newsdesk.
  • Generally remember that the news reporters can be our friend or enemies by our actions, even if they are constrained by editorial oversight which may not be as free. (Coming soon an e-mail list of all known news reporters on the web)
