Legislative Activism is an important part of all grass roots campaigns involving the federal government. Although Legislative activism by itself cannot achieve the desired goal we must admit it's necessity. Thus we have undertaken the endeavor to push for an endorsement of the John Conyers letter on economic sanctions/genocide in Iraq. Below you will find steps to take to influence your representative.

Steps to be taken:

  • 1. Contact each of the members of the Committee listed below. Ask them to hold a special hearing on the Health and Human Rights conditions in Iraq with testimony from objective witnesses and activist.

  • 2. Contact your representative (click here for a sample letter or form letter automatically forwarded to your rep) to endorse the Rep. John Conyers Jr. letter on economic sanctions.

  • 3. Make sure you send a letter to the committees and Bill Clinton, click here to do so.
  • 4.Write/Call/E-Mail the Congress (click here if you did not find your congressperson)

  • 5. Start a local media campaign to change the American culture in regards to Iraq. Alert your local media to the facts, (click on highlighted area).

  • 6. Fill in the Lobby report form below when you meet with a Congressional Office, detail who, where, when and what took place and the indicated position on the issue at hand. Pertinent details will be forwarded to the ADC-ITF mailing list and the Iraq Action Coalition:
