Classic Girl Fashions
Hi, this is the page where I get down to what is really important: FASHION, as I think it should be, the styles I like! Below are a series of buttons linked to the specific fashion pages on this site. I shall be expanding, reordering and changing this list over time, as I come upon additional images or the spirit moves me.
The fashion pages on this site contain scanned images drawn from a variety of sources. Wherever possible, I cite the original source for the images and, if the items are available, the source from which they may be purchased. The images displayed herein are for reference only. If you own the rights to any image here and wish to either be properly referenced, hopefully providing a purchasing link, or [sigh] have the image removed, please contact me with your request.
The format of the fashion pages include a "thumbnail" image, followed by text describing the content of the image. In those instances where it is possible to purchase the item from a known source, these images will appear at the end of a section and the text will include their phone number or URL. In many cases, there will be a larger version of the picture under the thumbnail. Clicking on the thumbnail image will produce the larger image.

Many of the styles below are replicated in American Girl size (18" doll), as I have commissioned several doll dressmakers to make copies of the outfits I really love. Please note: . For the most part, I simply do not have physical samples of the items but, if I do, I acquired the items for my own wardrobe. They are mine and not for sale! <giggle>
If, however, you are interested in expanding your wardrobe to include these excellent fashions, I encourage you to print out the larger versions of the pictures of the items you like, take them to your local dressmaker and commission the work.
Let me take this opportunity to introduce you to the concept of working with a local dressmaker. Many LGs are simply terrified by the idea of letting anyone know about their hobby. I understand this as I was also so afflicted.
Through a fortunate set of circumstances, working with a master costumer, I learned that most dressmakers perform the magic of creating beautiful clothing as a business. You are a potential customer and, since your request is not illegal, immoral or even fattening, you will discover most dressmakers are astonishingly accommodating. Not only do you get the garments you want, but they are cut to fit you perfectly, and they are surprisingly affordable. What could be more wonderful?
