[Eyebrow plucking]

There is one thing you'll want to do before you even get to the makeup, and that's plucking your eyebrows. This is tricky. If you've never done this before, follow the directions and GO SLOWLY. There's no need to rush. You'll need pointed tip tweezers (I recommend Tweezerman brand), a pair of those tiny little cuticle scissors, bright lipstick, and an old toothbrush.

Here we go, I'll walk you through it...take a hot shower, and stay in for a while. You want that steam to permeate your brows well. Just remember to turn on the fan when you do, because you'll need a fog-free mirror.

After that, get out and get in front of the mirror asap...you don't want to lose the steam advantage. It's pretty easy determining the shape you want... look at your brows as they are now, and simply look for the place where they first begin to dip downward. Then follow it out a little farther til you see right where they "bend" downward. That precise point is where the "arch" will be. Mark what you want to come off with bright lipstick; there should be a brightly marked line, symmetrical, on each brow.

Then, when you know exactly what you want to come off, take the tweezers in hand and start plucking. Do it as gently as possible, there's no need to really throw your back into it. Do one brow at a time, one hair at a time, tweezing off everything below the line you've created. Don't go too far with this! Better to take off a little at a time...you can save the deeply arched Linda Evangelista brows for the second or third time you pluck!

When you're as done as you think you can be, take a good hard look at them. Even them up a little (key word, a LITTLE -- don't even so much that you remove every hair on both brows.) Tweeze away any stray hairs around the brows. You should have 2 nicely symmetrical, clean looking brows, with a slight arch.

If the hair of the brows is so long that it's ruining the line, brush them upwards with the toothbrush and trim them a little with the cuticle scissors. Again, don't go overboard with this.

You're done!
