Hand Dyed Yarns and Garments
The background color here is a swatch from a Rainbow Dyed Stockinet fabric, lightened slightly so as not to blind the viewer! These dyes are pretty bright but I LOVE COLOR!
I think of these two dresses as my 70's Flashback Garments for the young at heart! The dresses are machine knit using my own Hand Dyed Yarns in limited dye lots and shaped entirely by hand resulting in a One-of-a-Kind color pattern. The fiber content is 70% wool and 30% nylon, a very light and soft fabric with zero itch that holds its shape well. The red dress below is shown with a Mohair Bomber knit with a sport weight wool, Hand Dyed the same colors as the dress, knit in combination with a commercial mohair multi-color blend which changes the overall color in different lighting conditions. The style for these two dresses is an adaptation of two books by Sharon Nani for machine knitters, "Pricing Formulas for Knits" and "Simply Basic".
The newest addition to my Hand Dyed Collection, a machine knit felted vest using Hand Painted wool yarns. The fabric was knit circular, felted, then cut and sewn using a Butterick pattern. No two fabrics are ever the same!!! The buttons are hand made one-of-a-kind glass by my friend Georgia Jessen of TouLou Glass, the perfect addition for a one-of-a-kind dyed garment!
Of course, no outfit is complete without socks! These Fancy Feet are made from the same Hand Dyed Rainbow yarn as the background graphic. Guaranteed to put a skip in my step and the people I meet will remember my feet!
