Yesterday, I purchased a sound card for my computer. This morning, I attempted to install it. After removing the cover of the computer, I located, without any difficulty, the slot on the mother board where the sound was to be installed.
I was confident I could install this device, it only needed to be slipped into a long slot and I had installed a modem and video card before, however, try as I may, the card would not slide into the slot.
My self-confidence rapidly gave way to disgust when I remembered that the technician, I consulted yesterday for the removal of a foreign substance from the disk drive, had offered to install the sound card, but, proud as usual, I had declined, asserting that I was capable of performing the job. Now, I had to admit my ignorance or ineptitude. The card wouldnt slide into the slot and I was afraid to press too hard least I damage the card or computer.
Pausing, for a moment, my thoughts turned to God, the master computer technician. It was from the mind of God that computers originated and it was to Him, finally, that I turned for help.
Confessing my ineptitude, I asked Him for help to install the card. A moment later, I tried again. Pressing my thumbs on the edge of the card, I firmly pressed downward and was gratified when the card effortlessly slid into place. I could image my guardian angel placing his thumbs on mine and exerting just the right pressure to accomplish the task without breaking the computer.
Again and again and again, I am reminded, by God, of my weakness and ignorance and His willingness to help in the smallest of matters. God is interested in every facet of our lives and ever willing to help us when we recognize our dependence on Him.
Praise the Lord!
