When we moved to Susanville, CA, we took a motel room on a temporary basis until we could rent a house. Our first problem was to find a reasonably priced restaurant in which to take our meals.
In the parking lot of the motel, was a family style restaurant, but it only took one meal to determine that we didnt want to eat there again. The prices were high and the quality of the food was poor. The only other place with in walking distance in which to eat was a McDonalds restaurant about two blocks away.
For three days, we ate junk food, bread and peanut butter and individual portions of apple sauce purchased at a near by grocery store while we waited for the Lord to reveal His guidance.
On our third day at the over priced motel, a housekeeper told us of a cheaper motel next door where the rooms were equipped with a small refrigerator and a microwave. We jumped at the change to prepare actual meals and keep food fresh.
The maid and her husband helped us relocate our meager possessions. Without this providential blessing of a cheaper room and refrigerator, our available funds would have run out in ten days or two weeks. The Lord is ever mindful of our needs. If we place our trust and confidence in Him, he will provide for our needs.
We are nearing the end of the month and our financial resources are still solvent. (As described in other sections, our plans were frustrated, requiring us to move our of town in June.) Praise the Lord for His mercy!
