Answers to Prayer and Providential Blessings

Answer 41 A Shower of Books

 

 

 

Sevilla is a voracious reader. She particularly enjoys “The Cat Who” series of books by Lillian Braun, the Perry Mason mysteries, and books by Louis, L’Amour. Because she is blind, she utilizes the recordings of the National Library Services for the Blind which are sent to her and other blind people on free loan.

 

 

We were having difficulty with a change of address from our previous home in Michigan to our temporary home in Susanville, California. Therefore, she had less then three books to read which was an intolerable situation for her as she has few other diversions.

 

 

Regional libraries for the Blind seldom understand her need for reading materials nor how fast she can read them and return these books, therefore, to maintain her in reading materials, often requires frequent calls to the library with pleas of, “Please send more books.”

 

 

When we moved to Susanville, I contacted the regional library in Sacramento and spoke to Vallery, explained Sevilla’s need for books and asked that she send at least 25.

 

 

Apparently, she took me at my word for books began arriving at our motel in great profusion, greater then Sevilla has ever had before. Within a week, she had at least 45 recorded cassette books and more kept arriving every day until they were stacked almost two feet high.

 

 

When the Lord blesses, He does not bless with in a stinting fashion as His children often bless, but liberally, until we can’t contain it.

 

 

Sevilla was feeling blue as we settled into motel living, and this evidence of Christ’s providential blessing uplifted her spirits.

 

 

Praise the Lord!
