Answers to Prayer and Providential Blessings

Answer 44 The Pink Kozee

 

 

Last Wensday, September 1,1999, concerned that the new owner of the Diamond View Motel in Susanville, would raise the rent, I quarried Mr. Lee, who is from Cambodia about his plans for September. He relieved our minds by stating that he would not raise the rent.

 

 

Several hours later, on a beautiful sunny morning, I was relaxing on a bench outside of the motel laundry room when Mr. Lee, (I think his first name must be Mister) walked across the parking lot and sat down beside me which, considering his austere manner, was somewhat unusual. Conversationally, he described the advantages of living in the Kozee motel several blocks away which he also owned.

 

 

Scratching his chin and gazing into the heavens as if in search of inspiration, he wondered if we might consider moving to the Kozee, which is painted pink, if he reduced the rent from $194.4 per week which, depending on the number of Thursday's in a month, could be $800.00 to a $1.000, to $400 a month. Of course, I was interested and so was Sevilla when I informed her of his offer, however, we were concerned about the reputation of the Kozee as a hangout for dope pushers, alcoholics, gamblers, and lesser types of criminals. He assured us that he had removed this dearly beloved refuse from the motel and it was now a safe place to reside.

 

 

Not only did the Lord take pity on us financially, but our move to the other motel was uneventful. We moved less then 24 hours later which gives evidence of the "Fleet" in "Fleet Feet for Jesus."

 

 

God is greatly to be praised even if the people who are living above us squeak the floor, drop objects, watch television, and allow their child to run about the room in wonderful abandon.
