Pastor Sherwood Hawthorne
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! My name is Sherwood Hawthorne. I was blessed by being called of God to Lakeside Baptist Church in April of 1991. The Lord has been good to us here. We have seen many people come into the Kingdom of God.
Lakeside is located in the heart of the beautiful state of Louisiana. It is a quiet little town; the home of Louisiana Baptist College.
I am married to a wonderful and beautiful wife that goes by the name of Wanda Elaine. We have two boys: Sherwood Jr., and David. We have two great-grandchildren, Heather and Jason.
Wanda and I love to travel and see this great land, the United States. But as we go, we see so many people that have no relationship with our Lord and Saviour. We want to carry the love of Jesus to all who will take time to listen to us. We have been in revivals and Bible conferences in Louisiana and Mississippi. We have travelled in all the lower United States and parts of Canada and as we went we have shared the Gospel wherever we went.
The reason I started this web site is so that maybe I can reach some out there that don't know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. There are not many ways to get to Heaven, but rather only one and that is through Jesus. John's gospel says Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
