Barbara Jean

Barbara was kicknamed Mike because she loved to play sports and there was only boys to play with. Dr. Walter W. Wicks ( who's nickname was Mike too)gave her this name which Aunt Hattie hated. At times it was real hard to call her Barbara when Aunt Hattie was around and Mike when Uncle Dave was present. My father never called her Mike, she was always "Barbara Jean".

An avid sports player and a fan. She played in a woman's softball league for many years while managing the team known as the Stissing House Tigers. She also coached minors league (mixed boys and girls) softball and the Little League (boy's). Many of the teams she coached placed first.(story by Katherine Cahill)
