ALICE COOK.  the funeral services of Mrs. Alice Cook, 80 years of age, who died at Bandana were held at Oscar Baptist Church last Saturday.  Rev. T.H. Hogue officiated.  Mrs. Cook died at the home of her sister,  Mrs. G.W. Kyle.  Besides her sister, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

August 26, 1949 Tribune Democrat - Don Simmons, Marshall County Gen Abstracts Vol. 5  "Fayne S. Cook, 23 year old son of W. T. Cook of Nashville, Tenn., a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Cook, was buried in the Calvert Cemetery the following day after a service conducted by the Rev. L. W. Carlin, pastor of the Gilbertsville Baptist Church. Young Sewell is survived by his parents; two brothers, Louis Dees Sewell, also of Calvert and Wayne Sewell, who is stationed at Fort Louis, Washington, with the Army, and a sister, Mrs. John Hale Rayburn.  In addition to his parents and uncle and aunt, Cook is survived by a brother, Herschel of Nashville; a sister Mrs. James Robertson, also of Nashville, and his grandmother, Mrs. George Hensley of Mississippi.  Govie Smith, 22, also of Calvert was injured in the crash.  Officials said their car struck a bridge abutment and overturned near Lexington on Highway 20 to Nashville."
