Cookie Sales Begin!- We can start selling cookies January 9th through January 25th. So, let's get ready to sell those cookies and raise money for our troop.You can earn cookie coupons that you use to buy special goodies from the Council shop. We will have a special meeting before sales begin with parents and daughters to inform everyone about how this works.
Brownie Investiture/ Rededication Ceremony- January 27, 1998. 4:30-5:30. At this ceremony the first-year Brownies will be saying the Girl Scout Promise and they will then recieve their Brownie pins. Second and Third-year Brownies will say the promise to rededicate themselves to being a Girl Scout. This is a very special ceremony, so please be sure to make plans on coming! The girls will need to come to the meeting that day at the regular time.
Third Grade Dabbler Doings- February 7, 1998. 9:30am- 12:30pm. This activity is open to our third-year Brownies only. This will give the girls an opportuinty to work on their bridging to Junior insignia and "dabble" in Junior badges. Girls attending all stations related to a specific badge will fulfill requirements to earn that Dabbler Badge. The cost is $6 per girl and they will need to bring extra spending money to pay for event patches and Dabbler Badges. All girls attending must be registered by January 23, 1998. Please let us know if your daughter will be attending.
Be My Valentine- February 14, 1998- Our girls will make Valentines and distribute them to area shelters on Valentines Day. Deadline for our troop to register is January 23, 1998. We will be making Valentines for the Millard Good Samaritan Center. Michelle and I will take the Valentines to the center and any girls who would like to go with us needs to let us know!
U.S. Girl Scout Pen Pal Network- We voted on this at the January 6th meeting and it was passed to sign up for a pen pal. This is for troops only and there are no provisions for individual links. We have been informed that it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to one year to be linked with another troop. I'm going to send the forms in soon, so we'll just have to see how long it takes us to get linked with another troop! Hopefully, not too long!
Brownie Fun Night and Lock-In- The Brownie Fun night is for Daisy's through 2nd Grade Brownies and the Lock-In is for 3rd Grade Brownie's and up. If your 3rd grade Brownie doesn't want to attend the lock-in, they are more than welcome to come to the Brownie Fun night instead, they just can not do both. This is a great night for our 3rd grade Brownies to work on their bridging steps. Several of the steps required to bridge to Junior Girl Scouts will be completed at the lock-in. This fun evening will be on March 13th-14th. Please contact the troop leader or co-leader for details!
Father/Daughter Banquet: March 29, 1998. 3:00-7:00pm at the Knights of Columbus in Bellevue. There will be door prizes, dinner and dancing and it's all with Dad! Dress is your Sunday best! See a troop leader if you need help with directions. This date has been changed from March 9th, due to the huge snow storm that Nebraska is currently getting hit with!
Zoo Sleepover: April 4th and 5th at the Henery Doorley Zoo. More details later! We might have the opportunity to go to the IMAX.
Daisy/ Brownie Zoofari- Saturday, April 25, 1998 at the Henery Doorly Zoo from 10 am-2pm. We will get to visit the zoo for a day of fun to share with other area Daisy and Brownie troops. Be sure to bring water bottles and a sack lunch for a pinic! The whole family is invited to this day of fun!
Worlds in Water at the Fontenelle Forest- Saturday, May 9, 1998. We will see the wet and wild side of Fontenell Forest! We will get to use nets and buckets to investigate the stream and discover the world of water animals. This will help us earn our Water Everywhere Try-it Let's bring a sack lunch to eat after our fun in the forest!

All Year Long Workshop at Camp Maha- We can go
and learn all about the history of Camp Maha and the people who work and
live there. We will also sing silly camp songs, collect nature sounds,
take a hike and create our own nature artwork. This will help us work on
our Outdoor Adventure and Outdoor Fun Try-its! We will be having
a picinic afterwards! Be sure do dress for the weather and for a hike!

Limited Too Fashion Adventure- We will be able to go to the mall and learn about the fashion industry first hand by attending workshops designed just for Girl Scouts! We will learn about careers, money and business management, and several other aspects of how clothes and fashion effect our world. No date set yet.
Girl Scout it Out- We will be planning a day to visit the Fontenelle Forest to have some fun and learn all about nature. We will be working on things to finish up a Outdoor Adventures and Outdoor Fun Try-its! Be sure to bring a sack lunch and wear comfortable clothes! No date is set yet.
Omaha Botanical Gardens- They need our help! We
can go there to help with a variety of gardening projects like, planting,
weeding or maintaining a garden plot. What a great way to help keep Omaha
beautiful! No date set yet.
