This page is dedicated to my family's genealogy, which includes members of the VALERIO, PONTIERO, COIA, FRAIOLI, DI MEO, DI CICCO, MARCUCCILLI and VERRECCHIA families (plus others). I created this page with the aim of making my family's genealogical data available to anyone interested in the genealogy of the above-mentioned families.  My data are available at this site as HTML pages and in a Gedcom file.  I welcome any and all feedback and hope that my data is of help to you in your genealogical research.

GEDCOM FILE
Gedcom (GEnealogical Data COMmunication) is a standard proposed by the Family History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and adopted by many developers and users of genealogical software.  The purpose of Gedcom is to simplify the exchange of computerized historical and genealogical information.  Most genealogical computer programs are able to import and export Gedcom files.  You are welcome to import my Gedcom file into your genealogical software.  E-mail me if you'd like a copy of it.

PERSONAL AND FAMILY BACKGROUND
I was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1964 to second generation Italian parents. In 1972 my family immigrated to Canada, and since 1990 I have been living and working in Europe; thus bringing things full-circle. I currently live in Geneva, Switzerland. My great-grandparents and two of my grand-parents immigrated from Italy to Scotland. Our Italian roots are in the province of Isernia (IS) in the region of Molise, and the province of Frosinone (FR) in the region of Lazio. More specifically, my Valerio, Coia and Di Meo ancestors came from the village of Filignano (IS), (map), my Pontiero and Di Cicco ancestors from the village of Sant'Andrea del Garigliano (FR) (2, map) and my Fraioli and Marcuccilli ancestors from the village of Roccasecca (FR) (2, map).

LDS FAMILY HISTORY CENTER (FHC) MICROFILMS
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) has microfilmed civil and parish records throughout the world. Among these microfilmed records, are those of the government archives of the towns in Italy where my ancestors came from. Here are lists of the films for my ancestors' villages and some extracts of data:
Search the Family History Library Catalog to find out if your village has been microfilmed.
