So far we have covered prophesy up to Jesus' return. In those previous pages, there have been some terrifying references to natural calamities. Now I must warn you, the worst is here.

Jesus returns to earth in a time of great immorality. The Anti-Christ is in power, and is using the beast to rule the earth. People are being forced by law to worship a false idol in the Holy of Holies in Jerusalem. Christianity, at least true Christianity, is outlawed. With the decline in the morality in the United States after only a laxation of Biblical morals, it is not hard to imagine the utter decay of society under a rule that legislates the most abominable thing to God - idol worship.

But this time, Jesus returns not as a baby in a manger; This time he is dressed for war. He is leading a band of 144,000 undefiled men who have the seal of God in their forehead. He defeats Satan and he is bound in a bottomless pit for 100 years, and he casts the beast along with the false prophet into the lake of fire. This begins the 1000 year reign of Jesus on the earth.

Not much is said about this 1000 year period. It can be assumed that this will be a time of re-building the earth and a time of learning the true lessons of God's commandments without Satan's interference. Whatever the purpose of this time is, it can be assumed that it will be a time of joy for those who get the chance to experience it. Imagine the entire earth as the Garden of Eden, with no sickness, no death, no pain. it will truly be a heaven on earth.

But Satan is not satisfied yet. After 1000 years, he is loosed to once again decieve the world. God responds with the seven last deadly plagues. Seven angels, with seven trumpets (Revelation 8:2-11:19) or seven vials (Revelation 16:1-21), will plunge the world again into torment. These are the most horrible of the prophesies, so be warned.

The first angel (Revelation 8:7 and 16:2) heralds hail and "fire mingled with blood" and a grievious sore upon all men who still have the mark of the beast. One third of all plant life is destroyed.

The second angel (Revelation 8:8-9 and 16:3) heralds a great asteroid (mountain) which falls into the sea, turning a third of it into "blood". The word translated here into blood is "haima", which means literally the blood of animals or humans, figuratively the blood of the grape (wine), or refers to bloodshed. There will be great bloodshed, as the entire ocean surface would be rocked with great tsunamis or tidal waves unlike anything ever experienced before. Any ship unlucky enough to be at sea during this time would be immediately and utterly destroyed.

The third angel (Revelation 8:10-11 and 16:4-7) heralds a great burning star falling to earth. It turns one-third of the water sources into blood. This is probably a comet striking the earth, since the description of the star has it burning like a lamp, i.e. radiating light. Astronomers are still not sure exactly what comets are made of in their core, so it is easily concievable that one could release enough poison to contaminate one-third of the water sources on the planet.

The fourth angel (Revelation 8:12 and 16:8-11) heralds an amazing event. One third of the day and one third of the night are "smitten". the only possible way to destroy one-third of both the day and night is to speed up the earth's rotation. This could easily be accomplished by a comet striking the earth (see the third angel above), and would indicate many more consequences. First, the blast from such an impact would devastate a huge area of the earth's surface. Second, the resulting debris from the impact would darken the skies, not necessarily enough to block out the sun, but a noticable change. Third, gravitational acceleration on the earth's surface would decrease. While the mass of the earth would not change, the centrifugal forces counteracting it would increase due to the increased rotational velocity. Thus, the gravitational field around the earth would effectively decrease. This would lead to a loss in atmospheric pressure, since the atmospheric pressure is caused by the earth's gravitational pull. A loss of atmospheric pressure would result in a greater loss of oxygen absorbtion for animals, since it is dependant on atmospheric pressure. Also, the loss of atmospheric pressure would allow increased ultra-violet and higher radiation from the sun to penetrate the atmosphere (see Revelation 16:9).

In Revelation 8:13, an angel then flies overhead proclaiming how terrible the last three plagues are. In light of the first four, this is a terrifying warning.

The fifth angel (Revelation 9:1-11 and 16:12-16) heralds a coming battle - the battle of Armageddon. Satan emerges from the bottomless pit and attacks Jesus with a terrible army. Revelation 9:3-11 describes it in detail: locust-shaped beasts, which do not kill, but torment men for six months, so horribly that they wish for death. Revelation 9:11 tells us exactly who this beast, the ruler of this army, is - Apollyon, aka Abaddon, aka Satan.

The seventh angel (Revelation 16:17-21) is the last and most horrible. Revelation 10:7 does not give many details of this angel's plague, save to say that it is the finish of the "mystery of God". Revelation 16:17 sums it up quite nicely with three words - "It is done." A few details follow - a great earthquake, even greater than the one at the beginning of the tribulation, the dividing of the great city (Jerusalem) into three parts, the fall of every major city, the fall of Babylon, and the destruction of every island and mountain from the face of the earth, and another meteor shower. This is not a simple natural disaster - the planet will actually begin to self-destruct.

The fall of Babylon is interesting in itself, because it gives an insight into an American city that will apparently survive until this time. In Revelation Chapter 18, a pretty accurate description of New York City is given as being the "Babylon" mentioned in Revelation. It falls in one hour. This is only possible by one of two methods - nuclear war or natural calamity. Nostradamus had some interesting insight into this subject, but this page is devoted to biblical accounts only. The fall of Babylon actualy occurs twice - once in Revelation 18, before the coming of Jesus, and again in Revelation 16:19, indicating that it is re-built during the 1000 year reign of Jesus.

We now come to the "second death", in Revelation 20:11-15. The earth and the heavens pass away from the throne of God and are destroyed, while all those who are dead are judged according to their works. All those who are not found in the book of life are cast into the lake of fire along with death and hell, to spend the rest of eternity in eternal torment.

In Revelation 21:1 John sees a new earth and new heaven. The old earth is gone - a new one is created. The story is over, and Jesus and God have won. Mankind will endure as God originally intended, while Satan and his followers are trapped forever in a lake of burning fire. This is not a fable. The Bible and it's prophesies have been proved over and over again, but have yet to be dis-proved on a single issue. Jesus is real. God is real. These prophesies will come to pass. Do not be one of those who stand before that terrible judgement without a defense. Jesus will give you a defense - His sacrifice at Calvary. It's free. Do not listen to anyone who tells you otherwise. You cannot buy your way into His kingdom, nor can you get there on your own. The rules are simple - just believe in Jesus. Believe that He lived, believe that He died for you, believe that He was and is the Son of God and the Word of God, and believe that He rose from the grave. It's really that simple.
