10. John Robert WINDON was born on 13 Jan 1844 in Charleston, West Virginia (Kanawah County). He died on 16 Jan 1927 in Springfield, Ohio. John died of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was buried on 19 Jan 1927 in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio. He served in the military February 27, 1864 to June 30, 1865. His mother sent him to get water from the well, but he never came back. Instead he joined the Army (Civil War) when he was 16 years old. He was a private in Company B, 2nd Regiment, West Virginia Cavalry (Grand Army of the Republic is inscribed on his tombstone). He was enrolled on 2/27/1864 at Charleston, West Virginia and was honorably discharged on 6/30/1865 at Wheeling, West Virginia. At the time of his enlistment his personal description was a follows: height, 5 feet 4 1/2 inches; complexion, dark; color of eyes, black; color of hair, black; and occupation, farmer. He had three horses shot out from under him while in the service; one of them fell on him and he suffered as a result of this for most of his life. He resided at 2319 Woodside Avenue in Springfield, Ohio. His military pension records indicate that he was living at the Woodside address, at the time of his death. Prior to his death, in a general affidavit filed by Catherine, his wife, on July 2, 1923, their residence was listed as 536 Home View Avenue, Springfield, Ohio. He was a clay digger and farmer. John and Catherine moved from Gallia County, Ohio to Oak Hill, Ohio between 1900 and 1910. John and Catherine built a two story house after moving to Oak Hill, Ohio. After it was built they discovered that the house had 13 windows and 13 steps to go along with their 13 children. They then moved to Springfield, Ohio, Clark County between 1912 and 1915. He was married to Catherine WILLIAMS on 3 Nov 1871 in Jackson County, Ohio. John and Catherine were married by J. Whitt, J.P.

11. Catherine WILLIAMS was born on 12 Apr 1853 in Gallia County, Ohio. She died on 24 May 1925 in Springfield, Ohio. Catherine died of cardiac dilatation. She was buried on 27 May 1925 in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio. Her tombstone reads "Cathrine" and not Catherine. Children were:

i. William H. WINDON was born on 2 Aug 1873 in Greenfield Township, Gallia County, Ohio. He died on 6 Jun 1941 in Springfield, Ohio. At the time of his death William had lived in Springfield, Ohio for 25 years. He died of Hodgkin's Disease. He was buried on 6 Jun 1941 in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio. William never married.
ii. Elizabeth (Lizzie) WINDON was born on 16 Feb 1872 in Greenfield Township, Gallia County, Ohio.

iv. Maggie May WINDON was born on 2 Oct 1878 in Greenfield Township, Gallia County, Ohio.
v. Joseph Franklin WINDON was born on 8 Dec 1879 in Gallia County, Ohio. He died on 10 Jul 1972 in Wellston, Ohio. He died of a stroke. He was buried on 13 Jul 1972 in Gallia Cemetery, Patriot, Ohio. He was a laborer. Joseph was a veteran of World War I. Joseph never married.
vi. John E. WINDON was born on 15 Apr 1881 in Gallia County, Ohio. John E. Windon's birth and death certificates state his birthdate as 1881. His tombstone says 1883. He died on 24 Aug 1968. Joseph died of myocardial infarction. He was buried on 27 Aug 1968 in CM Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio. He was a laborer in a brickyard in Oak Hill, Ohio.
vii. Sarah Ellen WINDON was born on 12 Sep 1882 in Gallia County, Ohio. She died on 15 Jun 1902. She was buried in Gallia Cemetery, Patriot, Ohio.
viii. Millie Belle WINDON was born on 18 Sep 1884 in Gallia County, Ohio.
ix. Daniel Stephen WINDON was born on 12 Sep 1887 in Gallia County, Ohio. He died on 23 Jul 1969 in Dayton Veterans Hospital. He was buried after 23 Jul 1969 in CM Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio. He was a World War I veteran (Pfc, United States Army).
x. Lettetia WINDON was born on 1 Apr 1893 in Gallia County, Ohio. She died on 26 Aug 1983 in Springfield, Ohio. She was buried on 30 Aug 1983 in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, Ohio.
xi. Robert Harrison WINDON was born on 10 Jun 1892 in Gallia County, Ohio. He served in the military. Records note that Robert served in WW I. He was buried in Forest Glen Cemetery, Yellow Springs, Ohio.
xii. Catheryn B. WINDON was born on 29 Jul 1897 in Gallia County, Ohio. She died on 14 Jan 1975 in Springfield, Ohio. She was buried on 17 Jan 1975 in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio. Tombstone reads Cathryn Sallee Noble.
xiii. Edith WINDON was born on 1 Jul 1895. She died between 1900 and 1910.
