Sir Hiss and the Sheriff
Prince John Voice: Peter Ustinov
Sir Hiss Voice: Terry Thomas
The Sheriff Voice: Pat Buttram
Henchmen: Prince John's henchmen are
Sir Hiss, and the Sheriff, who all have
the same motive; destroy Robin Hood.
Review: The "dark age" continues with "Robin Hood"'s Prince John. Though not nearly as bad as Edgar, Prince John certainly would be at the bottom of my list of the best to worst Disney villains. I don't care much for the film itself, and Prince John doesn't help. If handled correctly, he could have been a pretty funny villain, but just turns out to be corny, which can be displayed in the constant use of the irritating: "Mommy," while sucking his thumb. He's too silly, but if he were to be too serious it would probably bring down the light-hearted-ness of the movie. Prince John is not the only villain in "Robin Hood," The Sheriff and Sir Hiss are some of his subjects. Sir Hiss reminds me of a cheap imitation of Kaa from "The Jungle Book," as for the Sheriff, he's probably the best of the villains in the film (which isn't saying much) as a cruel tax collector.
