ELIZABETH WALLINGFORD

Elizabeth Wallingford married Joseph Hains 6 August 1811 in Lewis County, Kentucky. Elizabeth is buried in the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Hammond Township, Spencer County, Indiana. According to a biography of their son Levi Hains Joseph died in Spencer County when Levi was 18 months old. This would have been about December 1832 or January 1833. According to a biography of their son Edward B Hains, Joseph was born in Kentucky. There is a discrepancy between the two biographies as Edward's states that the family moved from Lawrence County, Ohio to Spencer County in 1845. Levi's states that Joseph died in Spencer County when Levi was 18 months old. Levi was born in April of 1830. The biographies were published in the Warrick, Spencer, Perry County [Indiana] HIstory of 1885. Levi's biography also states that Joseph and Elizabeth had 9 children and that Levi was the youngest. At this time I do not have a complete list of their children.

Edward B was born 19 December 1813 in Lewis County, Kentucky.
John was born 25 March 1821 and died 7 March 1897.
Willis W was born 7 March 1828 and died 15 April 1913.
Levi was born 27 April 1830 and died 25 March 1915. He served in the Civil War, Company C 53 Indiana Infantry.
