Nicholas Meriwether MARKS (John Harvie³, James², Hastings¹,) was born 21 Aug 1803 in GA; died 14 Aug 1866, Bossier Parish, LA, and was buried in Marks Plantation Cemetery Benton, Bossier Parish.
LA. He was the son of John Harvie Marks and Susanna Tompkins.
He married 01 Mar 1830, in Montgomery Co., AL, Rebecca Lide WRIGHT (Joseph², Carney¹,)was born 22 Jan 1813, Fairfield Co., Camden District, SC;
died 07 May 1885, Marshall, Harrison Co., TX at the home of her son Dr. R. M. Marks.
She was the daughter of Joseph Wright and Mary Ann Twitty (who m. (2) Derrel Harrison.)
Maternal grandparents were John Twitty and Nancy Ann Lide (who m. (2) ___Twitty, (3) ___Burn) of Marlboro District, SC.
Paternal grandparents were Carney Wright and Sarah McKay of Marlboro District, SCAL Marriage Bk C. p. 131.
