As 2005 summer rolls around, I am watching more regular television and
not as many movies. We especially love the reruns of BECKER and my wife
is a big fan of LOST. We have bought some "seasons" and enjoy those too.
There are so many NEW movies out and some favorites
are Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights, Open Range, Monte Walsh,
Six Days and Seven Nights, Hollywood Homicaide, You've Got Mail,
The Replacements, Space Cowboys, Gone in 60 Seconds,
and many others! I am a "video rental" fan and watch
movies any time I am home from off the road. I like romantic
comedies, westerns, and especially action/adventure!

This is one of my favorite movies. Tom Selleck, I think, captures the spirit of the frontier as he portrayes a restless wanderer bound by a promise to watch after the widow (Virgina Madsen) of a dying friend. His vow leads him to a small town terrorized by a saloon owner Mark Harmon ( Wyatt Earp) and his hired gun Brad Johnson. This is a film adaptation of Louis L'Amour's classic Western novel. |
Since I have worked as an OTR truck driver, this movie
interested me, although the trucker is the villian on this outing.
The movie has good suspense and a twist ending. A college student (Walker) drives to New Jersey from Colorado with his older, prank-playing brother (Zahn) to pick up the girl he has a thing for (Sobieski) from her college. However, on the way, a prank played on a trucker the two brothers meet during a CB radio conversation turns dark when they discover he's a psycho killer and he's out to get them.
