This is George Strait's debut as a movie star. He actually
does a pretty good job.The story is good, and probably has happened in real life to other performers.Isabel Glasser makes a pretty good looking cowgirl, and together they make a good pair.
Teamed with a good supporting cast, this movie is for anyone
who likes country music.

Doc Jenkins(Nelson) may be one of Country and Western's most
loved stars, but his private life is a wreck. He and his long
time partner Blackie Buck(Kristofferson) have split up, his
wife Honey Carder(Dillon), also a singer, has kicked him out,
and now he's involved with a music manager Rodeo Rocky
(Richard C. Sarafian)who's trying to steal his songs.
Doc calls Blackie and together they put together a plan to
get Doc's contract back, along with his wife and family.

This is a western musical. It starts with a group of men
heading for California after hearing they had discovered
gold there. This centers on two men, Ben(Marvin) and Pardner
(Eastwood), they are partners in everything. The town is
called "No Name City", and there is not a woman for several
miles in any direction, until one day a man rides into town with two women, both are his wives. The men didn't like that so they offered to buy one of them.
The man in question had been having trouble with the one of
his wives so he decided to auction her off.
Enter, Jean Seberg.
