3 April 2005--Wow. Doesn't time fly? And life goes on. So much has changed since I had this website running current. My job has changed more than I ever imagined. I'm still at the company I joined from the last posting, but have had six different positions. (That's what they do...) I'm not so sure I'm happy doing what I'm doing, but I'm more responsible to only myself, and can work on what I prioritize myself - I like that! I'm slowly becoming a work-a-holic in the job I have now, though, so have to keep a watch on that. I went roaming around my bookmarks tonight and found several people I used to keep up with are gone. One in particular passed away right around the last time I posted in here. Sam, I miss you. You were a pleasure to work with. On my own webpage, I have done absolutely nothing to update it. I just don't have the time I used to. We've acquired one more dog - Daisy. She was obtained as a companion for Lily, who has shown extreme mothering instincts now that she has a "baby" to watch over! Daisy is a smaller dog, brown and black. I thought she looked like a little Rottweiler when we got her as a puppy, but realized once she stopped growing that she couldn't be one, unless she's a midget Rotti! She's a bundle of energy - even more than Lily can handle sometimes now that she's matured. On the people front - there are more family in my life now. I'm a grandma! I never thought I'd be a grandmother before I turned 40. My granddaughter is almost 7 months old, and I love her to bits. It's such a neat thing to have a granddaughter, but I wish she lived closer. She lived in my house for the first three months of her life, and to say I got attached is an understatement! She and her mother only moved two hours away, but it's too far for that daily connection. I feel like I'm missing out. They come to visit more than I expected, though, so I'm grateful to see them as much as I do. I miss them both, though. It's hard to let go. Of anyone, I guess. Until next time......(hopefully it won't take almost 2 1/2 years again.....)4 November 2002--I can't believe it's been two years since I have updated this page. :-( I have been so busy since I started working again. If you read the entry for September 2000, I started working again about a month later, and have been working since then (except a for a short month-long break between being temp and permanent at the same employer). I think about my webpage often, and wish I had some spare time to work on it. I rarely even get time to read my e-mail nowadays. I'm in here now because Geo/Yahoo has threatened to take it away unless I update it, so if I want to keep it, I better think of ways to find time to get in here! Ok, Future Plans: start a Dog Page....we now have two dogs! Stormy is a 50-pound black lab, and Lily is a mix of boxer, german shepherd and lab. They are both adorable, and I'm finding out I'm not just a "cat person", I'm an "animal person"! Well, until next time!........
27 September 2000--Cat Page has new content! I have finally added the two cats we got in January 2000. I have also broken the page up...previous and extras are now on their own page. It is meant to see cat page, then go see cat page 2, then go back to cat page and continue. If this does not work for you, then please e-mail me!
26 September 2000--I have discovered how to get some free time! I quit my job--LOL! Seriously, after almost exactly a year of working where I was, I realized it was not for me. I am taking the time now to find "the right job" for me...wish me luck! :-) (My new job will *not* be in the medical field, nor in insurance!) So in the meantime I've found a little time to work on my site. I've done mostly small fine-tuning for the last two weeks or so, and I'm making a list of the bigger tasks that I need to find time for. As always, stay tuned!
26 February 2000--For over a year I enjoyed being a Community Leader for GeoCities. Even through the merger, which was very frustrating (hence the "I survived..." graphic on my front page!) I was still glad to help as a CL. Unfortunately my new-found career has left me with no time for my CL duties, so on 19 December I sadly resigned as a CL. You can tell by the delay in my posting this announcement that I have little free time anymore. :-( I'm just now getting the chance to make the necessary changes to my webpage regarding my resignation. On a good note, I was hired permanently with my job after only two months of temping there. Free time is scarce, but I do have plans for my website, I do still want to keep it running. I will grab whatever time I can to make these changes. I plan updates to my Cat Page and Tribute To My Brother. Keep your eye on these pages, and the others. I *will* update them. Just as soon as I figure out how to find some free time! ;-)
8 October 1999--After almost 15 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I have gone to work. I went through a temp agency and am now working for an ambulance company in their billing department. My official title is Insurance Clerk. I have worked there for 3 weeks now. Because of this, my website has been... oh..a *little* neglected...LOL! I will also have difficulty with content on my Soaps pages now. Haven't seen them in weeks! LOL! I'm still reading some of the magazines, though, so will update content on those pages when I can.
3 September 1999--There is now decent content on my As The World Turns page! ;-) Sorry it took so long.
13 August 1999--I have created a new page within my Tribute To My Brother section. It is called My Thoughts... and is about the thoughts I have as a survivor of a loved one who has committed suicide.
12 August 1999--I received many lovely graphic gifts this year for my birthday, so I've made a special page for you all to see them. Please visit Birthday '99 Gifts. I have also rearranged the navigation of the gift pages. The LOTH Secret Sisters of Summer games have recently ended; I will be putting up pages of gifts received from these games as soon as I get the chance. All LOTH games gifts will now just be linked from the LOTH Gifts page.
9 July 1999--Have you had any problems since the merger? If so, Yahoo! GeoCities wants to know about it. You will find a link to their new Feedback Form on my CL Links page.
4 July 1999--We are now officially Yahoo! GeoCities and with that comes quite a few changes. I have now made the changes to the links given on my CL Links page. The links now reflect the new URL's, and I've also added some new links you may find helpful. Questions? E-mail me, or fill out my form.
6 June 1999--I have made some changes to Tribute To My Brother, including the start of a Pictorial Tribute. As time allows, I will be adding more to this latest tribute. Please join me in celebrating my brother's all-too-short life.
27 May 1999--There are now links to ordering specific products from Amazon on some of my pages. Order books, music, and video on ATWT Page, GL Page, and Barry Page. You can also now search the Amazon site directly from my JCEM page.
25 May 1999--I have recently added some new links to sites to help with building your webpage. Check out Geo's Tutorials, Anybrowser, and The HTML Laboratory on CL Links Page. There is also a new section on how to make your computer-made page WebTV-friendly. On my WebTV Help Page there is now a link to a new transloader service which may be used when Star Boulevard is busy. If there are any more types of sites you'd like to see listed, please E-mail me!.
12 May 1999--New CL Info! I have created a newsletter to keep my Valley residents informed. It is called JCEM's Valley Updates. If you are a resident of Valley and live at 4500 thru 4999, and would like to stay informed of what is going on in Valley, or important info that I may have for you, please see my newsletter section on my CL Info page.
2 May 1999--I have won the Heartland Nomination as Valley CL of the Month from my Co-Liason Stuart! Woohoo! This means I go up against all the other CL's of the Month from the various suburbs in Heartland, to compete for Heartland CL of the Month. I am so honored! View my new award on my Awards page.
31 March 1999--I have new pictures on my site! View my brother Ricky on Tribute to My Brother, and click the names of my cats on Cat Page to be taken to a pic of each one!
17 March 1999--Due to an overwhelming number of gifts on my Gift page, they have now been separated. View Dream Girlz~ gifts HERE , LOTH gifts HERE , Bunny Buddy '99 gifts HERE , Community Leader gifts HERE , and Miscellaneous gifts HERE.
16 March 1999--My WebTV Help section is now up! If you're a WebTV'er, I now have a more detailed section just for you! See JCEM's WebTV Help Page. I also have a page to help you learn how to get files into your file manager. See WebTV Tools Tutorial. Due to my Gifts & Awards page getting too big, I have separated them. See my Gifts here, and my Awards here. I have also started working on my About The Author page. It should be completed shortly.
2 March 1999--Ok, I've neglected this News page long enough! I have been hard at work lately helping to create the Heartland Valley Community Center which is now officially open! Apparently, my Co-Liason, Stuart, thinks I'm doing well, too, as I just found out he's awarded me (and my fellow CL Stacie) the Valley CL of the Month award for February! See my new award on my Gifts & Awards page. I've also added two new webrings to my site recently. The WebTV Help Webring is on my CL Info Page , and the Tuxedo Cats Ring is on my Cat Webrings page. The last one is just for black and white kitties, and my Misty qualifies! :-)
14 January 1999--Well, despite the infrequency of entries on this news page, I have been busy--LOL! The biggest thing I've been working on is the addition of a new page created in celebration of Heartland Valley's first birthday in January. Go take a look here, and if you have ties to Valley, too, join in the celebration! I have also joined the NEW Valley webring "Journey Through Happy Valley"--twice actually! :-) Once for the entire site, being a Valley CL, and again for just the Valley Birthday page. See the site's ring on Webrings under "Heartland". The birthday page's ring is directly on the Birthday page!
19 December 1998--The move is over and I can now get back to my website! (Don't ever do a major move around a major holiday! LOL!) Due to the amount of holiday gifts I've received, I decided to create Thanksgiving and Christmas gift pages. I have also received more awards, one of which was the Heartland Valley Community Leader of the Month for November, an award I am especially honored to have received. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
4 November 1998--Been very busy getting ready to move--haven't been able to add much lately to my site. Have added a few new gifts and awards. Also added links for a tutorial for the new GeoBuilder, and some tips on getting listed in GeoCities' new search engine--all located in CL Info.
24 October 1998--My Gifts & Awards page is now up and running!
20 October 1998--I have won my first award! Mum, a fellow Dream Girlz~ member, awarded me "The Cottontail Award". See it on my Cat Page. I am so proud! She also liked the rest of my site and awarded me her "Luck of the Irish Award", which will be displayed on the Gift Page that I've been working on. Haven't been able to do as much as I'd like on my site, due to preparing for our upcoming move in less than one month. I have, however, been doing a few "behind-the-scenes" changes as a result of my first review from the Heartland Critique and Review. I've gotten some good suggestions--can't wait til the second review!
4 October 1998--I am now a member of Dream Girlz. For info, click the graphic on my jcem.html page.
2 October 1998--I have now given out my first award! See my Award Winners page.
1 October 1998--I am now a member of Ladies of the Heart! For info, click the graphic on my jcem.html page.
30 September 1998--An alternate award graphic is now available to those who earn this honor. One may choose my "JCEM's Great Site! Award", or the "Heartland Valley Good Citizen Award". See my CL Info Page for details.
28 September 1998--I now have a graphic available on my CL Info Page for Valley homesteaders--if you are proud to live in Heartland Valley, please take the graphic and display it on your site! Also added a link on that same page to Roxy's One Hour Page--Roxy tells you exactly what to do to set up a webpage in under one hour, even if you're starting off knowing nothing about webpage-building!
25 September 1998--I have hopefully made the WebRings in my site a little easier to find. Each page specifies if it has webrings for that topic, also the WebRings page now lists that it has rings for Community Leader, Heartland, & WebTV.
20 September 1998--My hubby was kind enough to create my very own award that I will use to present to "my" homesteaders whose site I feel is outstanding, follows GeoCities' content guidelines, and is appropriate for Heartland (or their respective neighborhood). For more info, see my CL Info Page. If you feel your site qualifies, and are interested in receiving this award, e-mail me or fill out the form at this page. Once the award is presented, I will create a Recipient List page with links to the winners' sites.
19 September 1998--I now have links in my site to a new section in regards to my CL duties. If anyone who resides in GeoCities needs assistance, please see this page. I am officially in charge of Heartland/Valley sites 4500 through 4999, but can help anyone, or help direct them to the CL for their block.
11 September 1998--I am now official. I am the new Community Leader for Heartland/Valley 4500-4999. If you reside in this section and need help or have questions, e-mail me! If you don't reside in this area, e-mail me anyway, and I'll get you in touch with your CL. Look for upcoming pages in this site that will make it easier to contact me in regards to my Community Leader work.
10 September 1998--AAAAAAH! I PASSED! If all goes well I will be an official CL by Monday!
9 September 1998--Today is CL Test Day! /me chews fingernails! :-)
2 September 1998--I was recently accepted into the GeoCities Community Leader Training Program. I am currently undergoing the training necessary to become a Community Leader! I am very excited about this, as it will give me the chance to help others in GeoCities to create their homepages. Training has so far been a lot of work, and I'm sure if I pass the training, I will be in for a lot more work! My mentor says that I am doing well. I will post the results to this page once the training is over. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
2 September 1998--Decided to create this news page.
