This page is dedicated to my Mother in law, Louise. Roses were her favorite flower, so I created all these just for her!

I would like to dedicate this page to my mother in law. I remember the first time I met her. I had married her son on Guam and she could not attend the wedding. We had been married a year and a half, and had a 6 month old son, when I took the trip alone from Guam to Kentucky. My husband would join me a couple of weeks later. I remember being so scared to step off the plane, wondering how she would feel when she met me!

To my surprise and delight, she took me in her arms, and hugged me, and fussed all over the baby. Instantly we felt as if we had known each other all our lives! She was a loving mother to me. She always helped when we needed it most, in any way she was able. Most of my married life, I was only able to be with her a few weeks out of a year. It was enough though, to bind us close as a family.

In December 1995, she opened her home to my family and two cats, while my husband was retiring from the Navy. It was a difficult time for all of us while he was looking for work and looking for a home. We moved to our new home the first week in April, 1996. That summer she took ill, had her gallbladder removed. She continued to get worse through the summer, and I finally made her an appointment with another doctor, as I knew something was very wrong. Through the process doctor's take, they discovered she had ovarian cancer and it had spread everywhere. Her stomach and her liver was blocked, and her outlook was very grim. She was given only 2 to 4 months to live. She tried Chemotherapy, but for that type of cancer there is no cure rate, only a very small rate of slowing down it's growth. She lived a year fighting, and she never once complained. I was blessed by being able to take care of her and give back to her a portion of what she had done for me through the years. I also learned the harsh reality of how wicked cancer can be. I am glad she is now healthy and waiting for her family in heaven. I know this, because she loved the Lord and had accepted Christ as her Savior!

To My Other Mother

You are the other mother I received
The day I wed your son.
And I just want to thank you, mom
For loving things you've done.
You've given me a gracious man
With whom I share my life.
You are his lovely mother
And I his lucky wife.
You used to pat his little head
And now I hold his hand.
You raised in love a little boy
And then gave me the man.
